This model represents the earlier Bedford MK, with a workshop body fitted to it. A wide range of office/workshop type bodies were manufactured by Marshall’s of Cambridge for fitting to the Bedford MK/MJ. The body is basically a box where a combination of side panels, windows and rear and side doors can be selected during manufacture to produce a huge number of different specialist bodies. Typical roles for these workshop bodied vehicles were for use by the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) to carry out field repairs to vehicles. Inside the body could be a wide variety of equipment such as lathes, grinders and drills, or more specialist electrical/electronic repair facilities.
