This is an un-assembled 1/152nd scale model kit of a Challenger that measures 75mm (gun forward), 24mm wide, and is 21mm high. It weighs 60g and consists of 10 parts that are made of lead-free pewter alloy, and 3 parts that are made of photo-etched nickel-silver.
In Service - 1983 up to the early 2000s when most of the fleet of Challenger 1s were sold off to Jordan and replaced by Challenger 2s.
This is the same kit as A13, but is designed specifically as a load for the Scammell Commander Tank Transporter (T01 in the P G Models range of kits). The rear road wheel on each track unit has been raised to enable the tank to sit squarely on the trailer.
Before moving off, the gun of the Challenger must be clamped onto the gun crutch at the rear of the hull to prevent any movement of the gun during transit, which would damage the gun stabilisation system. The kit contains photo-etched side skirts and a machine gun, but the machine gun should not be fitted to a vehicle during transit for safety and security reasons.
