Ideas

I shall use this page to give you some ideas of how you can use my models. The place to start is the reason for P G Models in the first place, namely my own Haverfordwest N gauge model railway layout

Model scenery

This shows the layout at the Newport Model Railway Exhibition at the beginning of June 2013

Model scenery

A close up of the Goods Yard with vehicles being loaded onto railway wagons in the background and a train of Warriors passing on the main line at the front.

Model scenery

A small diorama to show a Scammell Commander en route to the Castlemartin Ranges in Pemrokeshire. All of the buildings are from the Hornby Lyddle End range.

Model scenery

This scene has been displayed at nearly all of the shows that I have attended as P G Models. It is based very loosely on Ashchurch Vehicle Depot in Gloucestershire to show the rail movement of military vehicles to and from this huge base.

For years people have told me that they have seen "tanks" on British railways. What they probably mean is the Warrior, which has got tracks, with a turret, and with a gun. But it has only got a small gun that can not knock out any heavy armour such as tanks, and has relatively thin armour compared with a tank. And so I decided to make a railway diorama with my Challenger tank. This would have to be either Germany or Poland, or in Canada, which is what I've chosen here. This is a photo of a scene based on the rail movement of British Army military vehicles to and from the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) in Alberta, Canada. I understand that this happens about half a dozen times a year.
